The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act 2019 (NDAA) is a United States federal law which specifies the budget, expenditures and policies of the U.S. Department of Defense. The NDAA 2019 Section 889, prohibits the U.S. government from procuring video and telecommunication equipment from certain Chinese companies and their subsidiaries.
In order for video surveillance equipment to be installed on U.S. government properties, it must comply with section 889 of the 2019 NDAA. In short, none of its components can be constructed by any of these companies:
Huawei Technologies Company
ZTE Corporation
Hytera Communications Corporation
Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Company
Dahua Technology Company
